Initially I just drew V as a sketch, but when I was done I thought a background would kick it up a bit. I wanted to keep it simple, so I went for the popular phrase from the graphic novel and repeated it over for use as a graphic element. My super talented wife, Nicole, suggested that the lettering became really hard on the eyes and to fade it back a bit. She couldn't have been more right. I wanted to keep the black or white value without use of any grays, so I used a zipatone effect (which I love using anyways). I am going to try to do more of these, fast and fun.
